Early American reprint, 1924. Gorgeous ribbed decorative green cloth boards. Gilt titling to front board and spine. Ship stamped in 'black' to the front board and spine. 324 pages. Not illustrated. Line-framed title page in black and red and displaying an verted sastika.
Archaeological evidence of swastika-shaped ornaments dates from the Neolithic period. An ancient symbol, it occurs in numerous indigenous Asian, European, African and Native American cultures; sometimes as a geometrical motif and sometimes as a religious symbol. It has long been widely used in major world religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism.
The boards are very good - the spine is dulled. The binding is tight and square with all contents present and in good order. All pages clean throughout with no marks, foxing etc. A lovely early US edition.
