Sylvia
Creche is the author and creator of the ever-popular
Mervyn Mouse.
This lovable, furry little rodent first made an
appearance in 1972, published simply as 'Mervyn'
by Creche Publications and illustrated by Geoff
Ball.
In 1980 'Mervyn Mouse'
was added to Ladybird
series 401 - this was the first book to be added
to the series after a 24 year resting period, and
this time the illustrations were by Roger
Twinn.

After years of regular
contact with Sylvia Creche, The Wee Web have now been
given special permission to publish, on our website, the
unpublished Mervyn Mouse
stories.
Not only do we get a little more of Mervyn
but Sylvia has also generously allowed us to display some
other of her unpublished bedtime stories.
A few years after the publication
of further Mervyn Mouse books, namely: Mervyn Mouse
Goes Camping, Mervyn Mouse At The Fair,
Mervyn Mouse Joins The Sports Club and Mervyn
Mouse At The Zoo, I came up with these.
The following three Mervyn Mouse stories have
not been published, but have lain in my Mervyn file for
many years, until their debut here on The Wee Web....
In 1999, when the Ladybird factory closed, the last books to come out of the bindery were 210 hand-made versions of Tootles the Taxi (series 413) - one for each member of staff as a leaving gift
