Ladybird series 777
Read it Yourself
24 titles published between 1940 - 1980

Another series that was designed to help children who had grasped the basics of reading to progress further, and was made an enjoyable experience with the retelling of traditional fairy tales.

With their distinctive black covers and large title text, this series was received well by parents and schools, so much so that Ladybird reprinted the 24 titles several times over the years.
