A small series examining
some of the world’s greatest artists – again,
these books were popular with schools but not with the general
home reader.
There was only so far this small series could go –
it would have possibly been more productive to have given
each artist their own book – this would have expanded
the series and at the same time would have allowed more attention
to be given to each.

Beatrix Potter once employed illustrator Ernest Aris (series 474) but later fell out with him when he named one of his rabbit characters 'Peter' - she accused him of plagiarism.
