Ladybird series 671
Maps
1 title published between 1940 - 1980

Another one-title series – what was Ladybird thinking of?

This lonely title, Understanding Maps, was popular with the Scout & Guide movement, but also with young outdoor types.

Like with a few other of their books, Ladybird moved this title to the Learnabout series, 634 where it was simply renamed as Maps. Undertanding Maps is considered the true first edition of this title.

This Ladybird book was used by the British Army to teach young soldiers basic map reading skills as part of their training for the Falklands War.
