Ladybird series 612
Prayers and Hymns
3 titles published between 1940 - 1980

Three titles in this series only, the first two being issued with dust-wrappers.

The Lord’s Prayer is the first, and most collectable of the series – it’s preface clearly indicates that the book was aimed at adults who wanted to give their children a better understanding into the meaning behind the lines of the prayer, which it explains "is not an easy prayer to understand".

This first title was compiled by Hilda Rostron, the author of several Ladybird religious books, and top Ladybird artist, Harry Wingfield, illustrated it in his usual brilliant style.

Books in series 612 - There were 3 titles published in this series. Both entries below describe the first edition of each title.

The Lord's Prayer - Hilda Rostron - 1961
Book of Prayers through the Year - Hilda Rostron - 1964
A Ladybird First Book of Hymns and Songs - Irene Dark - 1968
A Ladybird First Book of Hymns and Songs (revised) - Irene Dark - 1969
