First edition issue points for collectors

Hardback book issued with dust-wrapper. Original price of 2'6 Net is shown on the front inside flap of the dust-wrapper. There should be no titles from this series listed on the dust-wrapper's rear flap.

The dust-wrapper of the first edition is a purple / plum colour - later editions, certainly beyond the fourth edition in 1950, have a more reddish colour.

“First published 1949” stated on the verso of the front endpaper. Catalogue page at the rear shows Clatter! Clatter!! Bang!!! as the last title listed.

Although later editions can be found for sale on the open market from tme-to-time, this title is extremely hard to find as a true first edition.
