Synopsis

The verses in the story are arranged by W Perring.Piggly Plays Truant is an exciting story in verse about two little pigs who played truant from school and had many lively adventures.But soon they get into trouble and find themselves stranded at sea in a small boat - luckily Old Salt Pork comes to their rescue and takes them safely home to mother.

This is the eighth title in Wills & Hepworth's Ladybird series, 401. "First published Oct, 1946" stated on the verso of the front endpaper.

Originally published as a small hardback book with dust-wrapper carrying the original price of 2'6 Net. 56 pages. Green boards. Picture pasted to the front board. Black and white illustrated endpapers that are different to the front and rear.

Catalogue page at the rear of the book - last title listed on the catalogue page is "In Green Pastures with Uncle Mac" from series 455. Front endpaper states "First published Oct, 1946"
