Synopsis

This book introduces you to the UK's capital city, London. Wonderfully illustrated with photographs by the author, this book takes you to the Houses of Parliment, Westminster Abbey and Whitehall, as well as to many other famous London buildings and places.

Opening text

London is the most daunting city for a stranger and yet, only a little beneath the surface, the most friendly.

Characters and Keywords

City of London - Capital Cities - England - London Underground

First edition issue points for collectors

Hardback book issued without dust-wrapper. Pictorial matt boards. As in the original publication of this title in 1961, the front endpaper shows a map of central london - the rear endpaper shows map of the London Underground.

THIS IS NOT a revised edition of 'The Ladybird Book of London' (1961), and although it is about London it has completely different text, and instead of illustrations, uses photgraphs taken by the author John Moyes.
